The Fairway series
The first Fairway was produced by London Taxis International in 1989, with revisions in 1992 (Fairway Driver), 1993 (Fairway Driver-Plus) and 1994 (Fairway 95).
Major differences over the FX4 include:
- Nissan 2.7 litre diesel engine
- Two front electric windows
- Locking centre division, allowing the driver compartment to be fully secured
- Original equipment taximeter fitted at the factory
- Improvements to safety features to better protect both driver and passengers
- Exterior and interior refinements to make the world-famous taxi even better
- Fully wheelchair accessible
- All-new front suspension and brakes, with discs on the front (fitted to the Fairway Driver onwards)
